A REFLECTIVE AVRIL LAVIGNE

Have been listening to Avril from the year 2001, and that time this blonde beauty was just a kid.
But there was a bunch of kid artists around, but she was different. She had the power to perform a FUEL in front of Metallica and do a Greenday as well, as she was the punk rock queen of the era.
The lyrics were a mix of teenage dreams as well as those of social issues. However, I was right back then that she had the make and break of an artist.
The days passed, I have grown too and so did my taste of music and this 2020, as I look back, I realize that I haven't heard much of Avril lately as my black days and dark nights or bright days and blissful nights were mostly with Motorhead, Slayer and Abbath as I had graduated gradually to thrash and death metal. But...as I picked  up the  latest Avril album just to see..I was like... whats..up!!!!

And I see that Avril is not that cheezy, roadside bubble gummer punk rock queen anymore...
Well as a part of me, the fiery part which craves nothing short of that deafening guitar driven hard rock sound, gets a bit low as it listens to this record, however the other part, may be the bluesy part of me at once finds that the record is nothing short of  a masterpiece. It's a different Avril, What the heck!!!!  a totally different Avril who has been diagnosed with the incurable Lyme disease, has much more deep and profound lyrics, still a rebel eager to fight death as she expresses, what the beauty of life means to all, and how someone's longing to be in life and not to part from it can be......
All I see is very mature and a very REFLECTIVE Avril....and the lyrics to the title song raises goosebumps all over me.....as we all are "TOO YOUNG TO FALL ASLEEP.........."
